previous - "The Beautiful People" - next I'm not a big useless time-waster in that I wrote my
audits today. I'm not 100% satisfied with them, but nevertheless
they're OK and I wouldn't have had the chance to do them whilst at work
due to distractions and the like. So yes, that's good.
Was looking at my old diary earlier on, and thinking about the past year. About this time in 2008 I was seeing that very gorgeous woman who I had that 'hot date' with at the casino (and later at my motel), but which soon fizzled out. This, plus how things went with JR (not that they ever really started, not that I think I ever really wanted them to) and the comments made in the week by colleagues wanting to know what sort of woman is my type.. well.. it got me thinking.
I'm not getting any younger. I acknowledge that, but also am aware that I am not getting any less jaded and am not getting any less unconfident about my ability to strike up (and keep alive) relationships.
I guess the more important thing is that I am not getting any nearer moving house and making the 'new start' that I anticipate (and am pinning hopes on) making a difference w.r.t. my current lack of direction in such areas.
I've got the week after next off, however, and am pretty sure I'll manage to do some house hunting during that week. I'm going to have to force myself to do so anyhow, and not take any excuses this time (like I have been so willing to accept on the last couple of times I've had time off and have intended house hunting). I'll try to fit in day trips to Liverpool and Aberystwyth as well, forsure.
Yeah, somehow England raced into a 29-0 half
time lead against France in the Six Nations this afternoon, the men in
blue playing poorly and letting Johnson's men make a mockery of them.
The second half was more even, and more sobering, and the final score
was 34-10.
In the Premier League, Chelsea beat Man City 1-0
in the early kick-off in a controlled but unspectacular manner. The
second game of the day between Villa and Spurs ended 2-1 to Tottenham,
despite the Birmingham side having made plenty of opportunities and
deserving more from the game than a consolation goal with five minutes
left. In truth this wasn't all that good a result as far as I was
concerned (selfish as I am) 'cause it drags Spurs away from the
relegation scrap, and also makes it more difficult to see Villa
qualifying for the Champions League.
LISTENING TO:- Um. More Concrete Blonde. I'd
intended to order one of their CDs with all those I purchased from the
USA yesterday, but.. it seems that I forgot to. I've a vague memory of
not being able to decide which album to get, so perhaps my indecision
is to blame. I donwloaded 'Bloodletting' this arvo anyhow - and was
interested to find that I had one of the tracks (from 'The Crow'
soundtrack) already.
Okay, it is well past time I did some ironing and also had a shave of some description. Um, by that I am not aiming to refer to a lack of sureness about which part of my body I am to shave - it will be my face - I'm just not yet decided on whether I'll go for a clean shave, a beard trim, or something in between the two.
