Squeezed, swept, finished.

Saturday, Apr. 04, 2009 - 23:22

In to town this morning, bit of shopping, failed to buy trousers because I didn't see any I liked. Bought, wrapped, packed and posted a pressie for my brother. All good clean fun.

One has to think, in the wake of a 4-1 loss at Bolton, that Middlesbro' are going to be relegated this season. West Brom lost 2-0 at home to Stoke and look set to have the same fate befall them. It's up for grabs who else looks most likely for the drop.

Indeed, Arsenal won 2-0 at Man City and will probably pip Villa and Everton to 4th spot (and the Champions League). Hull and Portsmouth drew 0-0 and hence both are still not out of trouble, and Shearer's debut as manager of Newcastle ended in a 2-0 loss at home to Chelsea (hence the Magpies aren't safe yet either). West Ham beat Sunderland 2-0, Blackburn got a vital late turnaround at Spurs to win 2-1, and Liverpool hit the woodwork several times, but had to rely on an injury-time Benayoun goal to beat Fulham 1-0.

LISTENING TO:- This evening I was perusing about on the BBC Radio 2 website, and ended up downloading a podcast of Folk Music, and also listening to quite a lot of the Bob Harris Saturday Show. That guy may look unnervingly like one of my ol' schoolfriend's Dads, and he does come over a bit lechy/saddo in some of his pics, but boy, he knows his music - for which he should be praised and held in high regard.

It's wonderful to listen to a load of tunes picked for the radio on the basis of them sounding good, as opposed to reasons of editorial and commercial responsibility/forcedness :-)

Chatted to my brother for a bit this afternoon, which was OK - I think I did my usual trick of telling him what he wanted to hear in order to avoid controversy and hassle. Chatted to my Mum later on as well, which was nice.

I've not got a lot to say. Not much to report - it's been an ordinary day following a fairly straightforward last few days at work. Normal service will be resumed at some time in the future.
