previous - "The Beautiful People" - next Randomness is here. OK, actually that's pretty
inaccurate isn't it, because though the thoughts are slightly random,
they do all concern the general subject of my life at the moment, and I
have put them in a very un-random numerically ordered list, haven't I?
1. Been in a bit of a grump today - the weather
was wet and overcast (typical for a Bank Holiday Monday!), which was a
shame 'cause the weekend was sunny. I went in to town to get a little
shopping, but wasn't in the mood and felt sicky and sorta constipated
so hurried home after I'd got the required goods.
2. Played a bit on my xbox (European
International teams in some kind of unwieldy league format), ate
slightly stale cheesy baps, had a shave, lay about on my bed not
sleeping but not really waking.
3. It's only real when you're not around, the
candle in my head is burning out. I know that love shouldn't be so
hard, and sometimes we're standing in the dark, but you light up
everywhere I go. And I know a heart shouldn't beat so hard, and
sometimes we're swimming with the sharks, but you light up and keep me
out the cold. And in my dreams it feels like we are forty storeys tall
When you're around, ooooh, we're untouchable..
4. I was wondering yesterday how the league
administrators could deal with the fact that of the four teams being
relegated from the Conference, three were definitely southern based
(and hence couldn't be expected to take a place in the Conference North
next year). Understandably, they'll move a Midlands club across
divisions to even out three new teams being in the southern section.
5. John Higgins won the World Championship
snooker title this evening, by virtue of a 18-9 victory over Shaun
Murphy (who was very much off colour during the final, and kept missing
balls he shouldn't). I wanted a longer, closer match, but in the end it
was all done and dusted within the first hour of the final session.
6. Drink to me only with thine Um-Bongo.
7. Paul Anthony Walsh (born 1 October 1962 in
Plumstead, London) was a diminutive and pacy centre forward who shot to
fame in the 1980s after joining Liverpool.
8. Please see number 11.
9. Slept bad last night - constant feeling that
I was going to throw up.. some kind of acid refluxy type indigestion
thing. When I did fall asleep, I dreamt that I met one of my old
colleagues and her partner whilst shopping, and they'd had a new baby.
They'd called her 'parmesan', somewhat oddly.
10. And yet I'm not rushing to bed tonight,
despite worries that I'll have an equally shitty attempt at sleeping
through. Sometimes I puzzle even myself.
11. Please refer to number 8.
12. I don't think I ever had a babysitter. My
older brother and sister were meant to look after me on a few
occasions, I spent time at grandparents and with my grandparents
staying at our gaff, and I think I used to go next door for the evening
and help the neighbour on evenings when my parent's werte out, but no..
no babysitter per se.
13. Now I see the times they change, leaving
doesn't seems so strange. I am hoping I can find, where to leave my
hurt behind. All this shit I seem to take, all alone I seem to break. I
have lived the best I can - does this make me not a man?
14. Watched a programme about Johnny Cash this
evening, which was quite interesting. He's left a rich legacy of music,
I probably should look more in to parts of it. I certainly should make
the time to watch the DVD of 'Walk The Line' that I have owned for six
or more months but not yet unwrapped.
15. Football yesterday suited Middlesboro' in
all probability, what with Newcastle and Sunderland both losing to red
and blue Merseyside teams respectively. I think if (and it's a
big 'if') we can win at Newcastle in a week's time, we might have some
chance.
16. Elsewhere, Championship final day saw
Birmingham join Wolves in promotion, leaving the playoffs to be
contested by Reading, Sheff United, Preston and Burnley. For novelty's
sake, I want one of the two small Lancs teams to go up, but perchance I
should think more widely and want a potential promotion rival to go up,
so they're not blocking Middlesboro's return to the top flight at the
end of next year, once our relegation this season is confirmed :-)
17. Aston Villa 1-0 Hull City today, which suits
me. Women's FA Cup final this arvo was a bit dull, but Arsenal beat
Sunderland 2-1 in the end. I wish I could stop burping up vomit..
18. LISTENING TO:- some of the CDs my Ma loaned
me. For instance the very Nickelback-like Theory Of A Deadman.
19. Call me pessimistic, but I am resigning
myself to having another six ten-hour days this week. By doing so, I
guess I'll be happier if perchance one or two things do go my way,
and.. hell.. whatever. It's only for another two or three weeks.
20. Anyhow, I've got the envious job of ironing
a number of shirts now, so I'll have to love you and leave you. By that
I actually mean I am going to hump your leg and run away.
