Yes, for neatness sake, I probably should finish what I was saying in the last couple of entries about my trip up north for that training course.

Wednesday morning I woke in pletny of time to shower, dress, grab some breakfast (sausages were wonderful - proper meaty gobfuls) and pack up my shit before chacking out. The nice lady on the front desk was able to clarify my bill so that it all fitted within my expenses budget - which was nice. I then set off into the sunny morning on the way to where the course was being held.

The day was similar to the previous one - some theory, some practical, some feedback. I was a little peeved at the fact one of the audits we did as a group I'd wanted to take more of a role in (because I knew what the co-ordinators were looking for, and had experience) but took a step back. I suppose part of this could be excused as me allowing the other people to have a go and make mistakes they'd learn from.

The journey back to the West Midlands was a bit long and uncomfortable with heavy bags, crowded trains and tiredness, but not too bad. I sat in the train vestibule and read my book (Robin Cook 'Chromosome 6'), which was fine and dandy enough.

LISTENING TO:- Loudermilk 'The Red Record', which is one of those unknown punts in the dark that I took, and which has proven to be interesting and aesthetic enough to become a heralded fave of mine, when in the mood.

Rest of the week, save for the course, hasn't been too bad. Thursday was a long and busy one - doing a trial which I am pretty sure the laboratory are going to fuck up, thus rendeding my hard work a waste of time, and requiring me to do the whole fucking thing again. Friday wasn't too busy - I wasn't in the mood really, so just made some lists of stuff to do, then crossed off the easy ones.

Today was blighted by the fact I have a stye in my eye, which is FUCKING painful and annoying. I hope it makes it's way through the stages as soon as is possible - I have a busy week ahead. Might put some teabag on it later, or whatever you're meant to do..

Up earlyish this morning, and in to town to have a haircut before the barber's got too busy. After that (and chatting with the barber about food poisoning), I went to the bank and got a cool hundred out - determined to spend it on myself and force myself to accept a treat and a cheer-up.

In truth I still struggled to find stuff I was keen to part with money for, but in the end managed to get eight CDs (including ones by Indigo Girls, Blink 182, Charlotte Gainsberg, Graham Coxon.. and several compilations too), six books, two shirts, three pairs of grunderpants, and a couple of cheap xbox games.

The afternoon was spent with these - esp the World Cup 2002 game I'd bought (cheap in price and cheap in content as it was) with the accompaniment of England struggling to save the 1st Ashes Test. They need to bat through the morrow and/or hope for rain in order to get out of it with a draw.

Have run out of energy. This evening I played chess and watched a Sean Lock stand-up show on TV. This was quite amusing.
