Catch a falling Tsar and put him in your gulag.

I was thinking about trees earlier on. Walking back from the shop along my street (which is a fairly quiet street for the near-city centre location) I was looking up at the several large old trees on either side of the road. The fact they all formed a nice canopy where most of the foliage was a good five to ten metres above the pavement.. well it just made me think about how if these trees weren't natural, they probably couldn't have been designed much better by whoever planted them.

Which led me to notice all the things made of wood that I could see, such as fences and window frames and sheds n'that. I wonder what the trees think of the fact they can see their bretheren all cut up and painted nearby. Would be like humans always living, presumibaly under the rule of some alien overlord - constantly within eyesight of garishly decorated and mutilated human corpses.

I'm pissed off that because I discussed going to see 'Antichrist' at the cinema with my mate, and because he was busy this past week so said we should make it this week coming, that I've missed seeing the film in the cinema. It's not on any more, it seems. I'm fucked off with the fact that the films which are still showing are complete tat appealing to the fact the kids are off school, and that decent movies only get to be showing for a week or two (and one screening a day at that!).

Manchester United were far from convincing, allowing a few chances against, and missing several themselves, but won 1-0 against Birmingham. In the day's other Premier League game, Liverpool travelled to Tottenham, and showed themselves unable to match the winning pace of the supposed five favourites. Goals by two Spurs defenders gave them a 2-1 win.

The first round of the Premier League has produced ten winners and ten losers, and hence no teams drawing with each other. I wonder when (if at all?) this last happened.

I suppose since I have a big day tomorrow (am going up to another of the company's sites in order to help out my equivalent who is a bit new in the job, and I intend to have a nose about) I should get to bed before midnight.
