previous - "The Beautiful People" - next Hey ninny nonny noo, with eggs in the hair (and Mary
Queen of Scots in the scullery, of course). What a lovely pair of
galoshes you are wearing, Alice. Can I send you an Easter Card next
Christmas - perchance the seven of diamonds?
Got a pile of books off the book man who visits
work, Penguin Modern Classics including 'Cold Comfort Farm', an Evelyn
Waugh, a Jerome K Jerome, some Oscar Wilde, Kingsley Amis 'Lucky Jim'
and a few more. Decent stuff for a fiver.
To summarise my Monday, and the trip I made up
north to one of the other of the company's sites in order to give my
equivalent at that location a hand... journey there and back wasn't too
bad and I don't feel I made too much of a prick of myself whilst being
driven there by my colleague, the site is a lot bigger and newer than
where I work, I was able (I think) to help out quite a lot and put the
new guy in the right direction, I was reassured that I am doing OK
(compared to the state that other sites' quality management is in, in
places), and it was a pleasant change of scene.
Tonight's footy had a few results which I'd say
I was quite happy with. Apart from Chelsea coming back from 1-0 down at
Sunderland to win 3-1, Middlesboro' won 2-0 away at Scunthorpe (and
move into second in the division), Wolves won 1-0 at Wigan, and Arsenal
won 2-0 at Celtic in the Champs Legue qualifier.
Bit scratchy with some of my dealings with
people at work. A lot of it is actually derived from dissatisfaction
with myself and my personality, and hence lashing out at people. I had
colleagues calling me a smartarse today, and.. well.. there's nowt
wrong with being right :-)
LISTENING TO:- I ripped some of my old CDs to
the computer - in partic a couple of Roadrunner Records compilations,
including a shedload of stuff by Type O Negative, Sepultura, Coal
Chamber, Life of Agony, Fear Factory and others. Was ace to have a
nostalge, plus I was chatting to one of my office mates and she used to
like a bit of thrash/goth years back when she was seeing a metaller
bloke..
Anywhore, I best get myself abedwards - I kept
dropping off into micro sleeps on the train home, hence I think that's
my body telling me I need a little more kip.
