Butter bath motion

Wednesday, Sept. 09, 2009 - 23:03

And all because the lady loves.. waxed paper moustaches!

1. Anticlimax (in a way) in the football - England beat Croatia 5-1 and it was never in doubt that the English would ensure qualification. Such a one sided match it never really got interesting, even when the Croat goalie spannered a slice o'clearance to Rooney for the final goal. Shame that Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland all lost, putting their qualifications at an end or at least in doubt (in the Ulstermen's case).

2. Work non too bad. I was doing a training exercise with some of the lab staff for much of the day, hence avoided being given too much extra to do (and also avoided some of the irritatingness of the office environment, which I wasn't in the mood for today). Still too much to do, however :-(

3. That book I'm reading ('The End of Alice') is very disturbing. You feel like the author and/or the narrator is playing with you somewhat.. there's a lot of stuff said to elicit a reaction forsure. Not a book one would read for pleasure, but it's very very thought provoking indeed. Powerful.

4. I've not listened to my iPod for days. This morning I loaded it up with a fuckload of stuff from the CDs I've bought in the past few months, but the device stayed in my bag, wrapped up in the headphone wire.

5. My flat is a fucking pigsty. So quickly has it returned to the state it was a week or so ago. Why am I unable to keep my home in a nice state? I need to develop the inflated sense of worry at what other people might think, like what normal people have. I just am too rational about the fact it doesn't matter a tiny fucking iota.
