previous - "The Beautiful People" - next Typical pattern for the last few days at work. Really
quite busy, didn't get everything done that I'd hoped to, some of my
colleagues are pissing me off, some are OK. I'm keeping a lid on my
frustration to a greater rather than lesser degree, and I'm no nearer moving
closer to work.
I had some mango kulfi t'other night, which was
really very nice indeed. It would have been nicer if Sheridan Smith was
there feeding it to me with a spoon, but.. it was fine.
My hovercraft of now only half full of eels. Someone
took several handfuls out and put them inside a large hessian sack. He
fondled my buttocks afterwards, however.
Watched 'Abigail's Party' last night, after one of my
colleagues loaned me the DVD. It was very good indeed - clever and
cringeworthy and funny (in a similar way to the impact of the first series
of 'The Office', perhaps?) indeed. I recall watching it ten or so years ago
when I went round one of my friend's houses while at university, and liking
it then, so it was good to see again.
I got accused of by one of the lads at work of
looking his girlfriend up and down yesterday (she also works at the office).
It was all in jest really, but the thing is, I wasn't actually doing so..
this time. I have done so before though :-)
Some relief for two of the teams that lost heavily
last weekend - Hull City managed to win against inconsistant Wigan up at the
KC Stadium, Geovanni getting the winner in a 2-1 victory. Elsewhere, Burnley
bounced back and beat Birmingham by the same score.
Part of me had intended to get up at a reasonable
hour and go to Birmingham today. I'd have liked to have had a look round the
galleries, see if there was 'owt on. Would have been a pleasure to treat
myself to something shopping-wise too. Not to mention pointed sticks or
bananas.
Strictly this evening saw a mixture of stuff - paso
dobles and quicksteps (some of which were merely foxtrots from less able
competitors). Truthfully, having fourteen couples dancing meant the whole
show just went on a bit and I lost focus on who did what, but a handful of
peeps look like they have real talent.
The last three standing were Lynda Bellingham &
Darren, Rav & Aliona, and Craig Kelly & Flavia. Slightly unjustifiedly, Joe
Calzaghe and Jo Wood were saved from elimination by the public, when they're
both a bit shit. Rav was eliminated.
Pompey managed to get their first points of the
season, and their first win, against Wolves at Molineux this afternoon. It
ended 1-0 to the south coast team - but they remain bottom.
Middlesbrough ended a bad few days for Southgate by
winning 2-0 away at Reading. Somewhat predictably, ex-Reading striker Leroy
Lita got a goal to keep 'Boro in the top three. It was nice to see Ipswich
and Roy Keane lose again and stay bottom :-)
An entertaining game between Bolton and Spurs ended
2-2 at The Reebok. Kranjcar and Corluka both scored for Tottenham to
complete the statistic of every outfield player who took the field for Spurs
today having scored this season.
Bit gutted about the damned United getting a late
equaliser against Sunderland. Wonder if Alex Ferguson's been bribing the
officials again to add extra injury time till they score? Anyhow, Sunderland
were excellent, Man United were a bit crap, and it ended 2-2 at Old
Trafford.
I finished reading 'Diary of a Nobody' earlier in the week (or was it earlier) and am now reading a Mark Billingham thriller about a policeman who goes undercover as a homeless bloke. It's been good reading so far.
LISTENING TO:- downloaded a few tunes off Amazon
today, including one by Animal Kingdom, which was nice.
Bed time, methinks.
